Read little into this one other than that I was feeling low the other day and wrote something up that I finally felt compelled to finish this evening. It is ~loosely~ inspired by Ecclesiastes.

I’m exhausted.
Everything about current events sucks.
I just want to sleep.
Folks send me videos and articles, and I can’t keep up.
I want to keep up. I want to learn. I want to engage.
Heck, I am engaging.

It’s just hard to stay engaged.
Especially with how quickly all the news changes.
Is that why HIS supporters don’t notice all the change?
Maybe they’ve just been exhausted for way longer than the rest of us.

It is necessary to cultivate our garden
It helps that I have my faith.
It helps that my faith is in a deity who suffered way more than I ever will.
But, it doesn’t help that my Republic is dying and he told us to render unto Caesar.

In times like these, I look to Ecclesiastes. I'm glad that one made it into the Bible.
I credit Solomon; wisdom is knowing what's more important than facts.
I love you God; thanks for all the blessings.
Help me share them. Help me stay humble.
Help me appreciate the beauty around me.
It'd be easy to be distracted by the urgency of today,
or by the possibility of tomorrow,
into missing the splendor of creation right now.
