Why Be "Democrats," even if it's In Name Only?

Written by Gabriel Green, 2026 DINO Candidate for Governor
I'm known for my strong anti-establishment and even my anti-partisan principles.
So, many reasonable people ask me why I'm not running as an independent, or as third party candidate. The reason is as unfortunate as it is simple.
The powers that be have made it basically illegal, and definitely too expensive, to run as anything other than a Red or a Blue. While it's technically possible, the rules are designed to keep the people divided between two bad choices, instead of offering good candidates.
I aim to change that, but first I have to use the system we have, not the system we want.
Why not be Independent or Third Party?
Choosing to run as a DINO boils down to how poorly our system is set up.
Right now, you basically need the governments' permission to change the government.
If that sounds like it's super prone corrupt, that's because the establishment likes corruption.
If someone wants to run as a Republican or Democrat, there are already existing rules and structures for doing so. You basically just have to say, "I'm a Republican," or "I'm a Democrat" and you can get on a ballot.
That's why Wyoming has so many RINOs...
But, if you want to get on the ballot as an Independent or Third Party, you have to gather signatures, get those signatures approved, and then get the governments' permission to be on people's ballots. Meanwhile, the ENTIRE time you're trying to get signatures there are a ton of extra rules about raising money, spending money, designing materials like pamphlets and handouts, and more.
Basically, we've made it impossible for people who aren't privately wealthy to run for office as anything other than a Red or Blue.
Even if people like you, support you, and want to vote for you, the rules make it so they won't get that chance. Unless you're Red or Blue.
Why is it set up this way? POWER.
Well, this is way more complicated than I can get into here, but it's basically because our system is easier to predict (and CONTROL) because it's limited to Red vs Blue.
If independents, third parties, or anyone with a mind of their own could easily get on the ballot, then the donors who control the Red and Blue primaries would lose their power.
Take what's happened to politics in Wyoming.
Right now, a very small portion of the population even votes in the Red Primary, even though it's almost guaranteed that the winner of that election will win the General.
They've even made rules recently so that even fewer folks can vote in those primaries.
That means that whoever controls that small group of voters – whether it be through money they spend on propaganda, or by having direct relationships with them that can be threatened if they don't vote right – controls the whole state.
But if conservatives had options beyond the Reds, then that power goes away.
Just look at the powerful cabal of donors who currently control the Wyoming Republicans. They know that winning a Red Primary here boils down to money, because it's such a crowded election and most folks will run as Reds even if they're RINOs.
All they have to do to get their way is THREATEN a candidate with financing their primary opposition, and the candidate does whatever they're told...
And to the brainwashed Dems who think their party is any different...see the Jackson Billionaires who pick and choose your candidates.
Republican Primary is a Trap, Democrat Primary is a Joke...
Now, I'm not Red or Blue. I'm Gabriel GREEN.
But, because I'm not some trust fund kid I can't afford to run as an independent. So, I have to choose RINO or DINO, and the choice is actually kind of obvious.
The last thing Wyoming needs is another RINO. The Red Primary is full, and very expensive.
But, the Blue Primary is currently wide open.
And, even though the Jackson Billionaires will work to resist me, there are so few Democrat voters that we can actually win their election without needing to spend a lot of money.
Seriously, basic door-knocking will put us over the vote threshold we need to steal the Democratic Nomination, and put me on the ballot in the November General Election.
What I'm really doing is skipping the line to get on your general ballot.
But Can a Democrat Actually Win in Wyoming?
First of all, yes, a Democrat can win here.
I'm only 30 and I've lived under a Democrat Governor. Our Governor order, going backwards, is R-Gordon, R-Mead, D-Freudenthal, D-Sullivan.
But, it also helps that I'm a DINO, not a real Democrat.
I'm using the Democrat Party to get on the ballot. I'm darn sure not joining their party.
And, it should be obvious to folks that I'm not actually a Democrat because they're the ones that got me fired from my new job when I moved to Sheridan for daring to criticize them...
See, the thing about Wyomingites that the Red and Blue Partisans seem to forget is that we weren't born yesterday...we can think for ourselves. Most folks vote Red here because they view it as the lesser of two evils.
But we'd all really like it if our choices weren't between two evils to begin with!
It is my fervent belief that my commitment to principles ALL Wyomingites can agree on (Hard Work, Fiscal Responsibility, and Personal Freedom) will be enough to rally Wyomingites into a winning campaign.
Together, we can end the division that the partisans foist upon us, and get back to the stuff we all agree on like having a functioning economy and enjoying the splendor of our state.
So, who all is supporting Gabriel Green?
Whether you're a dissatisfied Republican, a first time voter, or even one of the many Wyoming Democrats who sees that your party is aiding the rise of fascism with its incompetence, this is YOUR opportunity.
This campaign is meant to be of the people, for the people, and by the people.
There will be lots of differences between individuals who choose to vote for me, but what you'll all have in common is the desire for something different.
Whether you support me in the Democrat Primary, or eventually vote for me in the General Election over whoever buys the Republican Primary, we'll all be in this together.
And together, we will fix the economy, get the government out of our personal lives, and restore the Republic that so many of us love.
What happens when we win?
First and foremost, your life starts to improve. Obviously it improves materially as the economy shifts from benefitting billionaires to benefiting those who work for a living.
But also at a more personal level, as you and your neighbors are reminded of how much you have in common, and as government gets out of the way of your personal life.
While I'm quick to criticize the members of the establishment that have ruined our state and country, my focus is on uniting the people who have been abandoned by our political elites.
This campaign is truly an opportunity to heal the wounds our politicians have capitalized on.
Wyoming, Best Darn State in the Union
Wyoming meanwhile will become a thriving economy once again, where it's easy to envision how you'd raise your family as you see fit.
As a young person myself, know that I share your fears about bringing more people into this crazy world...
A personal hope of mine is to see Wyomingites able to vacation again in state, so towns like Thermopolis can thrive once again.
By re-investing in our traditional industries like Agriculture and Resource Extraction (mining, drilling, etc.), you'll have more money and the type of meaningful work you can take pride in.
Wyoming will be that shining city on the hill that other states look to with envy.
Rather than the pyramid scheme economy of the billionaires, we'll have a thriving economy based on stewarding our resources, and ensuring that jobs last generations, not just years.
Restoring the Republic
Now, Governor of Wyoming only has power over some of Wyoming. And that power is split with other branches like the Legislature and Judiciary.
Thank God for the wisdom of our Founders!
So, I can't realistically promise that voting for me suddenly saves the whole country...But, frankly, I think it's going to be a big step in that direction.
Just think about what it says to the establishment of both parties when I win...
To the Radical Right, it shows them that we're not going to keep voting Red just becasue we're scared of Blue. They cannot continue to erode the institutions that made this country great, expand the scope and size of the government, and increase the ability of billionaires to grift off the hard work of the people. At least not without consequences.
This is the deepest Red state in the country, and the Red Partisans know it. That's why they've begun using Wyoming as the testing ground for their most radical ideas.
We're not people to the Republican Establishment; we're guinnea pigs.
Meanwhile, the Dysfunctional Democrats would (hopefully) realize just how much they suck.
By offering the people nothing but the status quo, and a different brand of billionaire donors' special interests, the people have been forced to vote for the Reds for too long.
The Democrat establishment has abandoned voters in droves who they deem "deplorable" and genuinely seems to think of Wyoming as a place not worth trying to win.
I was literally told by the chair of the Sheridan Democrats that they weren't interested in reaching Republicans or Trump Voters...I told her to move to Chicago.
So, when I win a statewide election, despite the despicable "D" next to my name on the ballot, it's going to prove all of the establishment cronies totally wrong.
We'll show the elites that THEY are the problem, not the hard working people of Wyoming.
It's my genuine belief that by winning as a Democrat, even if it's as a DINO who will literally change back to being an Independent the second I win office, we will show both parties just how wrong they've been over the last couple decades.
