Written by Gabriel N. Green, 2026 DINO Candidate for Wyoming Governor

To all my supporters and folks looking for something different from their political leaders, I am truly sorry for my digital silence over the last months. I promise that I haven't been stagnant, and have continued to build support in person where I think the politics that really matter happen.

If you take nothing else away from reading this, please know that the campaign for Governor is still very much happening. And I'm counting on your vote!

I'm sorry I haven't been online much lately, I've been meeting folks in person and deepening my love for my fellow Wyomingites. I'm excited about the future we are going to build together, and more committed to my run for Governor than ever before!

Other things have been pushing me to work more in the physical world than the digital one.

Common Time Pressures of Wyomingites.

In 2025, I left my white-collar think tank job looking to do more to help the people of Wyoming directly. I spent a little time at a non-profit but quickly realized that too much of our infrastructure has already been corrupted by partisan tribalism. Now, I'm working in food service, having joined the Pony Bar & Grill.

This change has been humbling. I, like too many in this state, am living paycheck to paycheck and constantly seeking side gigs to make it all work. I am seeing first-hand why so many Wyomingits have stepped back from the political process. It's exhausting to stay afloat...

Adding something that feels as frivilous as engaging in politics isn't realistic for most people. And that's a real problem!

Fortunately, I'm keeping this campaign going with a growing team of amazing volunteers and a strong desire to fix these probelms for others in Wyoming.

Trying to Engage in Politics When Your Current Leaders Stink is Infuriating

Imagine you were a highly qualified mechanic, and whenever you opened the news or listened to the radio you had to listen to someone absolutely destroying a beautiful vehicle because they had no idea how to take care of it. Or if you were a doctor listening to someone absolutely misdiagnose a disease, and prescribe dangerous medicine instead. Or any other professional/expert where you absolutely knew that what someone else was doing was not only wrong, but actively dangerous.

That's what a lot of people feel when they hear the news.

You don't have to be an expert in economics or politics to know when something sounds off. Right now, competence and ability are not being rewarded by EITHER PARTY. Instead, they demand blind loyalty. This causes them to be incapable of doing even good things well. And you can hear it every time one of them opens their mouth...

That's why I will build a government where the defining characteristic is competence, not corruption. I will tap into my national network of the best and brightest minds in fiscally conservative and responsible governance, and ensure that my entire administration is committed to the Wyoming working people we serve; not billionaires' special interests.

Trying to Unite People Without Talking Face-to-Face is Terrifying

The third and final reason I've been struggling to engage online is that it's scary knowing how easily things online get misunterpreted and misunderstood.

In person, I can get along with just about anyone. And so can most people!

I have witnessed deeply Red and deeply Blue partisans bonding over shared interests and agreement on politics. I have navigated the toughest issues, from the complicated and confusing topics like healthcare, to the deeply personal like abortion.

When we are together, in person, we can find agreement. But when trying to craft something online that explains a position, whether it be why I am nuanced in my thinking on a topic, questions I'm still asking, or specific policies I'd enact to accomplish a goal, it's impossible to make everyone happy.

And it's basically always more likely to bother someone than convince them.

Now, frankly, I don't really care about making everyone happy. It's not possible.

But my goal with this campaign is to not only "do" something different. It's to demonstrate that something different is possible in the first place. And the biggest aspiration I have is not in fact to win the Governorship in 2026 but to remind the people of Wyoming that we're all on the same team.

This campaign is meant to unite the people of our great state, and help people to love their neighbors. Winning an election is secondary at best.

While that might sound hippie-dippie (though I prefer to think of it as living out the message of Christ), it's actually highly practical.

My fear then should be understood in this way: I'm not afraid of taking a stand or firmly owning my beliefs; rather I'm afraid that I won't be as effective at uniting the people through digital content as I know I can be when I'm with people in person.

And if I don't succeed in uniting the people through this campaign, then even if I win it I'm going to find it darn difficult to do any good once I'm in power.

"Something different" starts well before taking office as Governor.

Why You Should Still Be Excited About DINO

We have a winning strategy, and an ever-growing groundswell of support from regular, working class people in Wyoming who are sick of being abused and pushed aside by establishment interests on both sides of the aisle.

This is a campaign of the people, for the people, and by the people. Together we're going to show that the organized many can still outweigh the powerful few. Not by backing Red or Blue, but by choosing something different, in this case Green.

I can't wait to meet you, not only so I can share my vision for making Wyoming better, but also so I can hear your desires for what our state can be.

Together we can preserve the traditions that make this state so amazing, and build for a future that our young folks can be excited about!
