DINO Perspective

Authenticity with a Purpose

By Gabriel Green

There’s very little reason to trust our leaders. Most of us seem to agree on that, at least.

That’s why we need something different.

Honest Gabe

In trying to offer something different to Wyoming, I want to start with RADICAL HONESTY.

Radical Honesty means that I will:

  • Own my mistakes

  • Voice my real opinions

  • Share praise wherever it’s due

  • Criticize leaders when they fail us

  • Present myself as I am, not as who I think you want me to be

That last one is important, especially in the context of my sometimes less-than-stellar videos, audio clips, and articles.

I am wildly imperfect, but at least I’m honest.

Why feature flawed audio clips, less-than-perfect videos, and typo-laden content?

Now, insofar as Hard Work is a literal DINO Principle, it’d make some sense for us to edit and refine our videos and other content to be the “very best.”

But, I worry that in our modern age we see so much editing and refinement that it’s hard to know what is real. Even more so when AI is making very convincing looking videos and “people” to star in them.

So, my solution is to offer you “lightly edited” videos, audio-recordings, and articles.

Versions where my message should be clear, but perhaps my appearance or presentation isn’t the absolute best.

I want you to know me as I am. Not as who I want to be or can make myself appear to be.

It’s worth noting that I’ll (hopefully) improve at being recorded. I will get better at speaking the more I practice and find ways to explain things. I’ll also get better at body language as I lose my nervous ticks (like fiddling with my bottom button) as I self-obsess over flaws when watching/listening to myself…

By being radically honest, even in my presentation, I hope I can earn your trust.

Rebuildin' Trust

See, above all, I want to rebuild the trust that has been wasted by our so-called leaders.

To restore that trust in each other, we must be radically honest. And, while it’s worthwhile to work hard to present a polished appearance in my content it’s more important to work hard to find common ground.

The Partisan Trap

Our federal government has been owned by radical partisans* for too long. Partisans thrive on division. And that same partisan attitude has been infiltrating our state, and is only just beginning to show its true colors of mistrust and fear.

*Partisans are loyalists to the Red or Blue Teams, regardless of what the Red or Blue team actually stands for; they’re less “patriots,” and more like sports fans cheering for a team.

We don’t trust our government because it’s run by partisans who care more about proving the other team sucks than doing a good job.

They know that doing their job isn't what keeps them in power. What keeps them in power is if we distrust the other team more than we dislike their terrible governance.

And they’re making us distrust each other now, too.

Persuasion = BAD GOAL

Part of the partisan scam to divide us is their insistence that we can “persuade” other people with facts. The trouble is that never works. If it did, we’d all believe the same things.

It’s probably worth getting into more at length elsewhere, but the core problem is basically that different people reach different conclusions with the same set of facts, all the time.

The partisans take facts, and then insinuate that their teams' specific solutions are the only reasonable conclusion based on those facts. And then they’ve got you trapped, and anyone on the other team too. Either you agree, or you're unreasonable; and both sides claim this.

By insisting that we can persuade the other side, the partisans make it harder for the rest of us to find compromise. And, by focusing us on specific solutions, they make it impossible.

Then they make it seem like anyone who disagrees with you is evil or has bad intentions. At best, those who disagree are unreasonable and therefore shouldn't be listened to.

Common Ground = GREAT GOAL

It’s not that we shouldn’t stand up for our beliefs and even try to convince others of their validity, including some specific solutions that we believe could work.

And it’s not that we shouldn’t be wary of bad intentions some of the time.

But we shouldn’t be seeking “persuasion.” Especially not partisan persuasion.

Rather, we should seek to find a natural respect for each other’s’ values.

Natural respect is when you can disagree with someone’s position but appreciate why they’d hold it.

It’s how you can go from fighting over whether a specific solution is a good idea, to reaching a compromise that benefits both parties and accomodates everyones' "end goals."

If we focus on values, and use them to find things we agree on, we can restore public trust through the hard work of compromise.

For instance, that’s how I’ve come to realize that basically everyone distrusts the government, and basically everyone agrees with the statement, “if you don’t live where the election is happening, you shouldn’t be able to spend money on it.”

And, I know that we agree on a lot more than that in Wyoming, and in our respective towns!

Simple Solution – Aggressively Localize Government

This brings us to the key solution, which is to localize government.

With properly localized government, where resources are responsibly stewarded, we can accommodate everyone’s values.

Even in a small community folks can disagree about plenty. But the more local the government is and the fewer people it’s governing, the more likely it is that they’ll broadly share a lot of values with each other, and find solutions folks can all support.

That's why we have to localize our leadership too.

And we can only do this by changing the rules of the Election Industrial Complex to get out of state money out of Wyoming politics. Otherwise, we’ll keep electing leaders who are in the pocket of out of state partisans.

And those partisans will sow distrust and dismantle Wyoming’s greatest traditions, while failing to solve the problems that actually affect us.

Somethin' Different

The DINO movement is meant to offer an alternative to our radical partisan leadership.

Wyoming deserves something different.

Honest Gabe’s Plan

I have to work within the system to offer it. But that doesn’t mean I can’t be honest*.

And the plan is simple.

  1. DINOs win Democrat Primaries

  2. DINOs win General Elections

  3. DINOs use the powers of their offices to dismantle the Election Industrial Complex

How can I be so confident? Well...

First, I believe the Wyoming Democrats are highly vulnerable to being used by real reformers instead of the lazy and detached folks that dominate their national ranks.

Democrats can easily be beaten in their own primaries by a coalition of the following:

  • First-Time & Non-Traditional Voters

  • Young Voters

  • Traditional Independents

  • Disaffected Republicans

  • The MAJORITY of Wyoming Democrat voters that voted against Hillary and then against Biden (they didn’t get to vote against Biden/Kamala, but I bet they would’ve).

Second, I believe that the state is not nearly as “Red” as it seems, but rather “Traditional.”

Where Reagan once said, “I didn’t leave the Democrat Party…” I believe many of my fellow Wyomingites are saying, “I didn’t leave the Republican Party, the Republican Party left me."

Traditional Republicans are watching their own party give up on its namesake principle of republicanism in favor of imperial authority, and they’re watching Wyoming values go by the wayside as out of state funded partisan radicals install a national agenda.

Third and finally, I KNOW that there are a number of reforms that even the lowest municipal and county officials can enact to dismantle the Election Industrial Complex, to say nothing of the powers of state legislators, executives, and judiciaries.

And DINO will be a movement that can inspire and inform an entire new generation of leadership in Wyoming.

That's how I can be confident that we'll not just win, but be effective after we win.

*Small Caveat – Speech Restrictions

I have to be careful sometimes with my honesty for two main reasons, both partisan-caused.

  1. Legal Restrictions on Speech

  2. Propaganda-Based Restrictions on Speech

But, honestly, I don’t worry about all that too much.

As far as I figure, any attempt to silence me is just evidence that what I’m saying is worthwhile. Anything that scares the Partisan Establishment is something worth doing.

I’m a fan of the 1st amendment, and I ain’t afraid of using the 2nd amendment to defend it.

Legal Restrictions

But there are some legal rules around “campaigns,” and what counts as political speech and how you have to register it...Crazy, right?!

The partisans use these rules to stop reformers from accessing the traditional means of campaigning that we could use to topple the Election Industrial Complex.

I will try my best to always be “legal” with my speech because I respect the importance of the law. But I also don’t like to feel limited in my ability to be honest.

Propaganda Restrictions

Beyond that, there are a LOT of things the Propagandists keep us from being able to say.

They poison basic words and make it impossible to talk about real reform.

But I ain’t afraid of speaking my truth.

I believe that with consistency, and an ability to own my mistakes, I can always be honest.

I trust the American people to be smarter than we’ve been treated by our failed leaders.

In Conclusion

We are living in a time of urgency. Multiple generations have failed to fix the rot that has festered within our nation, and now it’s reaching even our peaceful little Wyoming.

In nerd terms, Wyoming is like the Shire. But even we are starting to feel the reach of evil.

To reverse this, our only hope is to look to leaders who we can trust, and who can help us to trust each other.

We can rebuild trust by being Radically Honest and diligently seeking Common Ground.

I'm trying to offer something different Wyoming.

I’m trying to show politics based on trust through honesty, not division through deceit.

That’s why I wear my flaws on my sleeve, and that’s why I am open with my long-term plans.

Restoring trust is the core purpose of the DINO movement, which motivates everything we have planned to reform government.

Together, we can protect Wyoming traditions and restore our republic.
