Honest Gabe vs Local Dems | Sick of Feeling Sidelined

I’ll admit to feeling rather sidelined by the local Democrats.

That’s okay; I don’t plan on needing them.

I just need their brands' free access to the general ballot.

Ask and Ye Shall [Decline]

On multiple occasions the local Dems have asked for volunteers, and I’ve offered myself.

I have an abundance of free time. I have an abundance of energy.  I am also plenty capable.

My offers are straightforward and genuine. My offers have yet to feel genuinely received.

First, the Dems nod politely when I offer. Next, they take forever to get back to me.

Then, when they do get back to me, it’s to let me know that I’m not needed or able to help.

Despite them asking for volunteers in the first place…

No wonder their party is shriveling.

Gossip & Stagnation

Y’all know me; I speak my mind, wear my emotions, and ain’t afraid to be direct.

I am radically honest, and I offer myself as such to their party.

They seem scared that I’m reaching new audiences; they’re hesitant about my help.

I’m less irritated by their failure to let me help, honestly, than by the tactics they respond to.

When I offer myself directly, and share how I think I can help, I get next-to-nothing.

The second I gossip to someone else, I get immediate responses. Every. Time.

I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised; these were the folks who got me fired for an op-ed.

You know, rather than responding in the newspaper or another public forum…

…like civilized folks have been doing for centuries!

But what does it say when the only way I can get involved is by being surreptitious?

Ask repeatedly and directly for a role in helping with something? Nope. Nothing.

Mention it to someone else in a way that might embarrass leadership? IMMEDIATE results.

Guess that’s the system; and they’re rotting with it.

Time for Something Different

I plan to change that.

How am I going to change that?

With Trust, Enthusiasm, and Honesty.

If we are to regain the TRUST that our political class has destroyed…

If we are to restore the ENTHUSIASM that our people work hard to deserve…

If we are to rebuild this nation...we will need HONESTY.

I am trying, so freaking hard, to work within the corrupted system because it’s all I can do.

But the Democrats aren’t making it easy. They’re basically rejecting my help.

All they really accomplish by refusing to work with me is prove that I’m a DINO.

I honestly cannot wait until there are more options than Red vs Blue. (I'm "Green," after all.)

Both sides only seem to understand petty power games, and partisan loyalty.

They punish honesty. They reward deceit. They gossip like crazy.

It’s time for something different.
